If you get sick while abroad, you can use mobileDOCTOR to connect with a Canadian doctor for a telehealth consultation. The best part is that it’s available 24 hours a day and seven days a week, meaning you’re always able to connect with a doctor. Whether you choose text, video, or audio chat, you will be connected within minutes providing peace of mind, especially where you may be unfamiliar with how to access medical care or if you are not fluent in the local language. This helps avoid seeking local consultation, especially in a place where you may be unfamiliar or they may not speak your language.

mobileDOCTOR can offer confirmation of a condition and provide advice on treatment options for the following:

To download the mobileDOCTOR app, follow these steps:

  1. Sign up at a new window.. You will need your policy number and date of birth.
  2. Enroll family members, if applicable. To add insured family members, click on “patient profiles” from the dashboard. In account settings under the coverage tab, add the relevant policy numbers.
  3. To chat with a doctor, click the “see the doctor” button and a doctor will respond to you in minutes. You can have your consultation by text, video, or audio chat.
